Dr. Anita Shantaram

Dr. Anita Shantaram possesses three decades of corporate training and teaching experience along with a Master's in Industrial Psychology from Bombay University. She was awarded Outstanding Teacher in Business Ethics recognition by Higher Education Forum. She was certified as Leading Professional in Ethics and Compliance by ECI, USA, after she completed executive-education program in "Managing Ethics in Organizations” from Bentley University in Boston.

 

In 2015. Dr. Shantaram successfully defended her PhD on Ethical Business Practices and Corporate Financial Performance: An Empirical Analysis at BITS Pilani and thereafter founded Ethics India, which is now part of legal-tech company Legasis Services At Legasis she has been instrumental in setting up the Compliance and Ethics Academy that runs the Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional Course

 

Dr. Shantaram has been a committed faculty member of Sydenham, HR and Jai Hind College in Mumbai as well as the IBS and UBS business schools and is currently teaching Business Ethics at NMIMS and IT Bombay. Further, she has been guest faculty to various Management Institute and has conducted 1200 workshops in India, Dubai and Jordan for organizations such as L&T, Tata, IDBI, Motorola, Veritas, MUST garments, Utmost Group and Intertec Systems amongst others.

 

As part of her services, Dr. Shantaram also conducts Ethics Audits for organisations, serves as external IC member for PoSH for multiple leading corporates and is on the Academic Advisory Board of several institutes.

 

Her research work includes seven published papers in the area of Business Ethics and she is currently working on various authorships in the space of Ethical Business Practices.

 

She has been active in social service and has served as President of the Rotary Clubs of Bombay Bayview (2009-10), Asst. Governor (2013-14), Asst. Trainer (2016-17) and Jt. Treasurer (2017-18) for District 3141. She is a trustee of the Dr. P. N. Singh Foundation that conducts the "Leaders of Tomorrow Project” and has also been an invitee on the board of the Council for Fair Business Practices.
